The Dr. Louis G. Lamothe Foundation (FLGL) celebrated its second anniversary on Friday 23 February 2018, in the charming setting of Jojo Restaurant in Pétion-ville.
This sumptuous gala evening, during which a raffle was held to help rebuild the village of Panyol in Kenscoff, took place in the presence of a select audience composed of, among others, the President of the Republic, Mr. Jovenel Moïse, the Prime Minister, Mr. Jack Guy Lafontant, the President and Vice-President of the National Assembly, Messrs. Joseph Lambert and Gary Bodeau, senators and MPs, ambassadors, media directors and supporters of the FLGL.
In her speech, the new president of the Foundation, Mrs. Sabrina Saint-Rémy, reiterated the FLGL's commitment to working hard to keep on supporting the targeted communities. "The Dr. Louis G. Lamothe Foundation, in line with its mission to support vulnerable communities in their quest for well-being and empowerment, is currently hard at work in the villages of Panyol and Anse du Clerc, where projects are being implemented in the domains of education, agriculture, green energy and basic infrastructure, with a view to creating an environment that is favorable to their flourishing", declared Mrs. Saint-Rémy, inviting donors to carry on supporting the Foundation to allow it to continue its work.
For its part, the former Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, honorary member of the FLGL, briefed the audience on the main domains concerned by the Foundation's intervention in Panyol and Anse du Clerc. Using short documentaries as support, Mr. Lamothe presented the different field projects the FLGL initiated in order to improve the living conditions of these communities. The former Head of government then invited the potential donors to loosen their purse's strings to take part in this show of solidarity endorsed by the Foundation.
DJ Franco the Saint and Akoustik took care of the musical entertainment, to the delight of the participants in this beautiful celebration.
